Phosphoric Acid Food Grade (H₃PO₄) is an essential inorganic compound with diverse applications across industries, notably as a food additive, in fertilizer production, and for detergents. The most prevalent industrial manufacturing method is the wet process, also referred to as the "wet acid process." This process involves quarrying phosphate rock, acidulating it with sulfuric acid, filtering out impurities like gypsum, concentrating the phosphoric acid through evaporation, and finally, purifying it to meet specific grade requirements.
While other methods like the electrochemical and thermal processes exist, the wet process is favored for its operational simplicity, economic viability, and scalability for large-volume production.
